When you launch Abelssoft’s SyncManager application, a large piece of text on its interface invites you to “start by creating a new synchronization job.” The nice thing here is that creating a new sync job is an effortless task: pick a name for the sync job, select a source location, select a destination location, pick a sync mode.

A dropdown menu allows you to pick one of the following as the source location: My Documents, My Music, My Pictures, My Videos, or any other folder you want. The same options are presented by the dropdown menu that allows you to set the destination location.

The dropdown menu that lets you select a sync mode features four options: Manual (you will have to manually sync the source and the destination folders), Always (SyncManager will automatically sync the source and destination folders), Daily (the sync job will run every day, at the time you specify), and Weekly (the sync job will run every week, on the weekday you select).

Please note that SyncManager works like this: it takes everything from the source folder and copies it to the destination folder. If the destination folder is empty, it will be populated with everything from the source folder. If the destination folder is not empty, its contents will be removed and replaced with everything from the source folder.

This means that SyncManager provides support for one-way sync – it takes everything from the source and places it in the target. SyncManager does not support two-way sync – it won’t take files form the target and place them in the source.

SyncManager is free to use for a trial period of 30 days. A prompt will remind you of this fact every time you close the application. The prompt tells you how many days are left in your trial, presents the benefits of switching to SyncManager Pro, and invites you to purchase a Pro license.

Whatever source folder you select will be synced with whatever destination folder you pick. SyncManager allows you to run the sync job manually but it can also run the job automatically (always, daily, or weekly).

Pros

32- and 64-bit Windows editions are supported; a setup wizard will help you quickly install SyncManager on your Windows PC. The SyncManager interface is very simple. Easily create one or multiple sync jobs. Run sync jobs manually or automatically. Sync data from a source folder with a destination folder.

Cons

Trial limitations: 30-day trial, nag screen. Two-way sync is not supported.
